While at Bouchercon, the world's biggest convention for writers and fans of crime fiction, I signed copies of High Chicago in the book room. Two seats over from me was the legendary Michael Connelly, whose line-up of autograph seekers stretched the length of the room and out the door. I could only close my eyes and dream they were lined up for me.
